DIY Super Mario Galaxy inspired Star Fox McCloud RGB LED visor range finder

It’s too bad they ruined the StarFox cameo in the marketing leading up to Super Mario Galaxy movie, but if you, like me enjoyed his appearance & portrayal nonetheless, then this one’s for you ^_^

Modeled to be as screen accurate as possible while still being functional for us humans, this 3d printed DIY kit comes in only 4 parts that just slide into place. So if you intend on using the RAW parts as is, there’s no need to even glue anything ^_^ … But if you want a more finished customized look, the separate parts make it easy to weather and paint your pieces before assembly.

Both styles come with the RGB laser etched and cut holo panel, which slides snuggly into its opening; but the the DLX version has an extra LED module to be able to light up the outer translucent green LED casing from the inside.

INSTRUCTIONS:

BATTERY REPLACEMENT FOR DLX & RTW

• Pull out the clear plastic LED housing from inside earpuck body.
• Carefully slide your nail ( or thin flat screw driver ) at either side seams to pry open
• Carefully separate the 2 halves ensuring not to lose batteries
• Remove old batteries & replace with new AG3 / LR41 button cel batteries
